Continental: Heads Up Working toward improving driver safety and the overall driving experience, Continental is developing advanced technology that makes heads-up displays even more useful. Why heads-up displays? Because drivers keep their eyes where they belong, on the road ahead. 34 p The Continental augmented-reality heads-up display (AR-HUD) provides two layers of information, one appearing closer to the driver, on the bottom of the screen, with conventional heads-up information, and the second, augmented layer, seeming to be further away. In this case, the blue arrows are the augmented information, with the speed (70 km/h) and distance to turn (100 m) being the conventional. The arrows direct the driver when the navigation system is in play, with the arrow direction modifed to accommodate direction. by Gary S.
